A Hogle Zoo employee who helps organize the annual "Bowling for Rhinos" fund-raising
event has won a trip to Kenya from the American Association of Zoo Keepers.
Bethany Lutz, an animal care staff member at the Salt Lake City
zoo, will serve as one of the U.S. ambassadors for the rhino program.
Lutz, who also
is president
of Utah's AAZK chapter, will be in Africa from Friday through March 6.
During
the 2002 rhino bowling event, Lutz raised $9,200 to help save black
and white rhinos at the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya. Money raised helps
preserve
rhino habitat as well as conservation efforts for the animals.
