VIENNA (Austria), March 22: In the gracious presence of HRH Crown Prince Paras Bir Bikram Shah Dev and HRH Crown Princess Himani Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah, Foreign Minister Ramesh Nath Pandey handed over a pair of rhinos presented as a gift to the President and the people of Austria, on behalf of the Nepalese people, by His Majesty King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev to Vice Chancellor of Austria Dr Hubert Gorbach at a special function held at the Zoo Schoenbrunn here today. HRH the Crown Prince is the Chairman of the King Mahendra Trust for Nature Conservation. On the occasion, HRH the Crown Princess addressed the Rhino Presentation Ceremony.
Earlier upon arrival at the Zoo premises, Their Royal Highnesses the Crown Prince and Crown Princess were heartily welcomed by Vice Chancellor Dr Gorbach on behalf of the Austrian Chancellor Dr Wolfgang Schuessel. Also present to accord a warm welcome to Their Royal Highnesses were high-ranking government officials of Austria, office-bearers of the Zoo Schoenbrunn, Austrian people and the Nepalis residing in Austria.
Speaking at the programme, Austrian Vice Chancellor Dr Gorbach said the Kingdom of Nepal and Republic of Austria share very warm and close cooperation and friendship.
