An 85-pound white rhinoceros was born at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, the first such birth at the amusement park.

The female rhino was born to mother, Mlelani, and father, Tombo, whom the park received from Kruger National Park in South Africa in 2001.

According to the International Rhino Foundation, which coordinated the movement of Mlelani and Tombo, there are just over 11,000 white rhinos in the wild. Fewer than 160 are in zoos across North America.

Tuesday's birth brings the population of white and black rhino population at Busch Gardens to 11.
